The Sengkang General and Community Hospitals in northeast Singapore will be one of the largest integrated hospitals in the region when construction is completed in 2018. The integrated hospital will primarily serve the growing areas of Sengkang, Punggol, Hougang and Pasir Ris.
Sengkang General and Community Hospital
Located at the intersection of Anchorvale Street and Sangkang East Road, the nearest public transportation access points will be the Sengkang MRT Station, the Cheng Lim LRT Station and the Sengkang Bus Interchange. A pedestrian link bridge will directly connect the Sengkang General and Community Hospitals to the Cheng Lim LRT Station. Vehicle drop-off/pick-up points will be provided to each major component of the integrated hospital.
The new integrated hospital will be managed by Sengkang Health to provide access to comprehensive healthcare services onsite and through its network of smaller surrounding hospitals, polyclinics and national specialty centres. The integrated campus will feature three major components and provide a total of 1,400 beds. The General Hospital will have 1,000 beds and the other 400 beds will be in the adjacent Community Hospital. Of the total beds, 200 are designed to be “swing beds” that can be used in either hospital. The third major component of the campus will feature a Specialist Clinic building, also adjacent to the General Hospital.

The training facilities will house a lecture theater, nurses training room, patient care-giver training centre and a skills lab. Community space on the hospital campus will include a rooftop wellness garden and pocket gardens at other locations on site. Sengkang General and Community Hospitals is Singapore’s largest single hospital development and will significantly enhance the access to comprehensive care when it opens in 2018.
